​Hello, and welcome to another edition of ‘Live-Blogging Shish on Professional Football’. Tonight, it is an AFC East Showdown, between Miami Dolphins and New England Patriots.
 
Dolphins are coming off a 10-6 season. However, they did not make the playoffs. In the loss at the end of Regular Season. Then Rookie Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa played his worst game of 2020.
 
It was one of the reasons why this offseason the Miami Dolphins were fighting rumors that they would make it trade to Deshaun Watson from the Houston Texans. Dolphins Head Coach Brian Flores has said that Tua is the QB for the only franchise to have a perfect season in the NFL.
 
So, Tua is the starting quarterback. And in his first opening day start, he needs to prove to the Miami Dolphins Organization and the fans, that he is their franchise quarterback.
 
However, Mac Jones has a longer leash by the New England Patriots due to him being a rookie. He got the starting job by replacing Cam Newton. The only pressure that the Patriots’ Crimson Tide Quarterback is that it will be the same any Patriot Quarterback after Tom Brady. And that is to try and as many super bowls or more than Brady.
 
Patriots are hoping that Jones can get them back into the Playoffs. They did not make the Playoffs last year.

Final Thoughts:
Patriots moved the ball with Mac Jones starting his 1st NFL Start. However, Patriots committed too many penalties and lost the turnover/takeaway battle.

For the Dolphins, their defense bend but didn't break. As for their offense, they scored touchdowns on their opening drives, but only muster 3 points the other drives. That is going to have to improve.

Next Week, Dolphins will host Buffalo Bills. While Patriots will head to MetLife to play New York Jets. Both games will be played on Sunday.
