World Series Game 7: Houston Astros at Los Angeles Dodgers 11/01/2017
Fox Sports TV Broadcast
Hello and welcome to another edition of ‘Live Blogging on Shish Baseball’. Tonight it is the deciding Game 7 of the 2017 World Series, between Houston Astros and Los Angeles Dodgers. The Series is tied at 3-3. The Astros have won games 2, 3, and 5. While the Dodgers have won 1. 4. And 6.

The Astros was hoping to close out the series, with Justin Verlander last night. However, they came up short as the Dodgers defeated the Astros 3-1.

The Dodgers feel more confident about tonight. They feel that they have the better of the pitching matchup. They also have the advantage when it comes to the bullpen. Their bullpen is led by closer Kenley Jansen. Dodgers Manager Dave Roberts could also use their ace starter Clayton Kershaw.

Tonight’s starters are a pair of righties. Lance McCullers, Jr for the Astros, and Yu Darvish for the Dodgers. McCullers is 1-0, 2.95 ERA, and 16 Ks. Darvish is 2-1, 4.15 ERA, and 14 Ks.

HOUSTON ASTROS ARE THE 2017 WORLD SERIES CHAMPIONS!

Final:
HOU 5, LAD 1
HOU wins series 4-3
W: Morton (2-1)
L: Darvish (2-2)
PoG: Springer 2/5, HR, 2B, 2R, 2 RBI
PoWS: Springer 5 HRs
ToG: 3:37

Final Thoughts: Well another World Series Championship drought coming to an end. It just seemed like last night's game wasn't a heartbreaking Game 6 that some World Series runner-up experience, being up 3-2. The Astros started the night with a double by Springer. Then Bregman reaches second base on a throwing error by Cody Bellinger, scoring Springer. Then in the Top of the 2nd Inning, the Astros scored three runs highlighted by a 2-run home run by Springer.

As for the Dodgers, there will be some questions about Dave Roberts decision making in going to the Bullpen early in some of these World Series games.

When the Houston Astros look back at this season, it came down to 2 seconds at the end of August. That is how many seconds to spar during the waiver-trade deadline. That was the deadline the Astros had to meet to get Justin Verlander.

Once again, the Houston Astros are the 2017 World Series Champions.
