Hello, and welcome to another edition of ‘Live-Blogging Shish on Professional Ice Hockey’. Tonight, it is Game 1 of the 2025 Calder Cup Finals. Between the Abbotsford Canucks (Vancouver Canucks AHL Affiliate) and the Charlotte Checkers (Florida Panthers Affiliate).

The Canucks make their first trip to the Calder Cup Finals, by defeating Tucson, Coachella Valley, Colorado, and Texas. They are doing it with the goaltending of Artūrs Šilvos. Šilvos (12-5, 1.94 GAA, .929 SV%) has played some outstanding goaltending. He needs to do well in this series. As the Latvian will take the Fin Kähkönen.
For the Checkers, they defeated the Bruins in 5 games in the Atlantic Division Semifinals. After that, they swept the defending back-to-back champion Hershey Bears and The Macgregor Kilpatrick Trophy Champion Laval Rocket. Now Kappo Kähkönen (10-2, 1.73, .927) and the Checkers are 4 wins away from their 2nd Calder Cup in franchise history.

Abbotsford is led by Linus Karlsson in goals scored. While Arshdeep Bains leads the Canucks in assists and points.

For the Checkers, they are led by John Leonard goals scored and points. And Jesse Puljujärvi in assists.

It is the Abbotsford Canucks and the Charlotte Checkers, in Game 1 of the 2025 Calder Cup Finals. Game 1 will begin shortly.

Hello, and welcome to another edition of ‘Live-Blogging Shish on Professional Ice Hockey’. Tonight, it is Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals, in the 2025 Calder Cup Playoffs. Between the Charlotte Checkers (Florida Panthers AHL Affiliate) and the Laval Rocket (Montréal Canadiens Affiliate).

Checkers took the first game of this best-of-seven series. They did it with outstanding goaltending by Kappo Kähkönen. They would like to get another great net minding, to five Charlotte a 2-0 series lead, heading back to North Carolina.

For the Rocket, they had scoring opportunities and were on the power play. But they were 0/6 on the man advantage. Laval also gave up a shorty to John Leonard, in the 3rd Period of last night’s game. The Canadiens AHL Affiliate is going to have to improve on the power play, if they want to split this series.

It is the Charlotte Checkers and the Laval Rocket, in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals, in the 2025 Calder Cup Playoffs. Game 1 will begin shortly.

Hello, and welcome to another edition of ‘Live-Blogging Shish on Professional Ice Hockey’. Tonight, it is Game 4 of the Central Division Semifinal, in the 2025 Calder Cup Playoffs. Between Milwaukee Admirals (Nashville Predators AHL Affiliate) and the Rockford IceHogs (Chicago Blackhawks Affiliate).
The road team has won all three games in this series. IceHogs took Games 1 & 2. While Milwaukee kept their season in Game 3. Whoever wins at home, in these next two games will win this best-of-five series.

Milwaukee was aggressive in Game 3. They scored 6 goals in 3 shots on goal. Half of those 6, came from the twig of Kieffer Bellows. Bellows scored a hat-trick on Wednesday. The Admirals need to continue that mindset, Tonight in Game 4.

For the IceHogs, they got great goaltending by Drew Commesso, in the first two games in Milwaukee. But he came down to Earth in Game 3. As only stopped 22 of 27 SOG. They need the Drew Commesso of the first 4 games of the Calder Cup Playoffs, for the IceHogs.

Milwaukee is led by Kieffer Bellows in goals scored and points. The Admirals are led by Ozzy Wiesblatt in assists.

As for the IceHogs, they are led by Joey Anderson in goals scored and points. Rockford are co-led by Zach Sanford and Cole Guttman in assists.

Hello, and welcome to another edition of ‘Live-Blogging Shish on Professional Ice Hockey’. This Afternoon, it is Game 3 of the Atlantic Division 1st Round Series, in the 2025 Calder Cup Playoffs. Between the Springfield Thunderbirds (St. Louis Blues AHL Affiliate) and the Providence Bruins (Boston Bruins Affiliate).
 
The road teams has won both games of this Best-of 3 Series. The Thunderbirds won Game 1. While the Bruins took Game 2. Now the series returns to Providence.
 
If Springfield wins, they will face the Hershey Bears in the Atlantic Semifinals. If Providence wins, they will face the Charlotte Checkers.
 
The Bruins have the momentum, as they defeated the T-Birds in overtime in Game 2. They are going to need more than Vinni Lettieri to do scoring. And Michael DiPietro needs to pick up where he left off in Game 2. He stopped all 24 T-Birds SOG.
 
For the T-Birds, they need to put more shots in the net. They only have 39 SOG, in the first two games of this series.
It is Springfield Thunderbirds and the Providence Bruins, in the 2025 Calder Cup Playoffs. Game 3 will begin shortly.

Between the Syracuse Crunch (Tampa Bay Lightning AHL Affiliate) and the Rochester Americans (Buffalo Sabres Affiliate).

Syracuse is coming into these Calder Cup Playoffs hot. They have won 8 out of the last 10 games. They would like to defeat in-state rival Rochester.

For the Amerks, they finished in 2nd Place in the North Division. But they are coming into the CCP with a regulation loss and an overtime loss. The time for them to step up is now.

Syracuse is co-led by Conor Sheary and Dylan Duke in goals scored. The Crunch os led by Derrick Pouliot in assists. And Sherry leads the Tampa Bay Lightning Affiliate in assists.

As for the Amerks, they are led by Isak Rosén in goals scored, assists, and points.

The Crunch have a goal differential of -29. They convert 17.32% of their power plays (16.67% on the road). And they kill 83.9% of their penalties (84.8% on the road).

As for the Americans, they have a goal differential +46. Rochester converts 18.66% of their power plays (15.5% at home). And the kill 85.48% of their penalties (88.24% at home).

Hello, and welcome to another edition of ‘Live-Blogging Shish on Professional Ice Hockey’. This Afternoon, it is an American Hockey League Central Division showdown. Between the Milwaukee Admirals (Nashville Predators AHL Affiliate) and the Rockford IceHogs (Chicago Blackhawks Affiliate).
 
The IceHogs (30-30-6-2, 68 points) just wrapped up clinching a spot in the Central Division portion of the 2025 Calder Cup Playoffs. All they are playing for today is the slim chance of getting either 3rd or 4th place. A loss would keep them locked in the 5th spot.
 
For the Admirals (38-21-5-6, 87 points), they are a win and a regulation loss by the Texas Stars away from winning the Central Division. Of course, Milwaukee would like to advance to the Calder Cup Finals. A feat that they were not able to do the last two years, thanks to the Coachella Valley Firebirds.
 
The IceHogs are led by Cole Guttman in goals scored, assists, and points.
 
As for the Admirals, they are led by Cal O’Reilly in assists and points. While Jake Lucchini leads Milwaukee in goals scored.
 
It is the Rockford IceHogs and the Milwaukee Admirals, coming up shortly.

​Hello, and welcome to another edition of ‘Live-Blogging Shish on College Basketball’. Tonight, it is a 2025 NCAA MBK Tournament Regional Semifinal game, in the Midwest Region. Between Big Ten’s Purdue Boilermakers and the Big 12.
 
The Boilermakers do not have Zach Edey this year. However, they did far better than the team who beat them for the national championship in U Conn. This year, the Boilermakers made it to the ‘Sweet 16’, while the Huskies got bounced by Florida, This Past Sunday. Now Purdue looks to see if they get back to the Final Four for the 2nd consecutive season.
 
For the Cougars, they have been a great program since Kelvin Sampson became their head coach. But what is eluding them is the National Championship. They are hoping this would be the team led by LJ Cryer.
 
The Cougars are led by LJ Cryer in scoring. Houston is led by J’Wan Roberts in rebounding. While Milos Uzman leads ‘Pi Slamma Jamma’ in assists.
 
As for the Boilermakers, they are led by Trey Kaufman-Renn in scoring and rebounding. While Braden Smith leads Purdue in assists.

The Tritons have been a story in the 2025 NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament. They are in their first NCAA Division 1 Tournament, for the first time since moving to the premiere division in the National Collegiate Athletics Association. Tonight, the Tritons get their size challenged against the Wolverines' Twin Tower.
 
For the Wolverines, they do not have the Fab Five, but they do have Twin Towers. Danny Wolf and Vladislav Goldin are both 7 feet plus. They will need some guard play from Tre Donaldson for them to make some in roads in the NCAA Tournament.
 
Tritons are led by Aniwaniwa Tait-Jones in scoring, rebounding, and assists. While the Wolverines are led by Vladislav Goldin in scoring. Danny Wolf leads Michigan in rebounding. While Tre Donaldson leads the Maize & Blue in assists.

The Broncos (NET Ranking: 43) were able to defeat San Diego State and New Mexico to get to the MW Madness Championship Game. For them to earn the automatic bid to the 2025 NCAA MBK Tournament, they need to avenge their last loss by Colorado State.
