But is tonight’s conference championship game a trap game for the Maize and Blue? Hawkeyes, had a good year. They went all the way up to #2 in the polls. But lost to Purdue and Wisconsin. Wolverines are led by Cade McNamara in passing. While Hassan Haskins leads Michigan in rushing. And Cornelius Johnson leads the Ann Arbor School in receiving. For the Hawkeyes, they are led by Spencer Petras in passing. While Tyler Goodson leads Iowa in rushing. And San LaPorta leads the Iowa City University in receiving. Michigan moves the ball on average at 451.2 YPG (226.3 through the air and 224.9 on the ground). Defensively, they yield 319.3 YPG (196.3 through the air and 123.0 on the ground). This game is a rivalry game, where the winner of this game wins the Paul Bunyan Axe. It is the tradition between these two schools, that dates to 1948. The Badgers have won the last two games, in this rivalry. But this game is also important for Wisconsin. As a win today, will also give them the Big Ten West Division and trip to Indianapolis, to play in the Big Ten Championship Game. If they lose this game, then Iowa will be heading to Indiana on Saturday. For the Gophers, it is about getting back the Axe. As they will finish at best 2nd in the Big Ten West. Badgers are led by Sophomore Quarterback Graham Mertz in passing. Braelon Allen is Wisconsin’s leading rusher. And Danny Davis, III leads the Madison University’s Football Program in receiving. As for Minnesota, they are led by Tanner Morgan in passing. Their leading rusher is Ky Thomas. And Chris Autman-Bell leads the Minneapolis School’s Football Program in receiving. As mentioned on the infographic the Ravens are coming off a loss on Thursday Night Football to Miami Dolphins. And they are not going to have Lamar Jackson (Non-COVID Illness) playing today. Tyler Huntley will get the start for the Ravens. For the Bears, they are coming off a bye week and would like to find some answers on winning. Justin Fields is starting to find his rhythm and now the Bears have a setback on defense. Their Pro Bowl Linebacker Khalil Mack is going to be out for the rest of the season due to foot surgery. So, they Bears are going to need Fields and the offense to step up their game if the Monsters of the Midway plan on making it back to .500 and the Playoffs. Both teams split the first two games in Houston. Braves took games 3 & 4, while Astros took Game 5 in Atlanta. Now the Series returns to Houston, with both teams hoping to get decent starting pitching. It is more important for the Braves, as they attempted to win the World Series, with back-to-back Bullpen Games. They only won the first Bullpen game in Game 4. In Game 5, Astros got to the Braves Bullpen. Meanwhile the Astros, hope to get some good innings from Luis Garcia. If they win to tonight, they could go with all hands on deck including Odorizzi, Greinke, or Urquidy. But Tonight’s Starting Pitchers are left-hander Max Fried for the Braves. And right-hander Luis Garcia for the Astros. Fried lost Game 2, while Garcia lost Game 3. Braves have defended their home field in Games 3 & 4. In Game 3 they hurled a combined 2-hitter, in their 2-0 shutout victory. In Game 4, Atlanta’s Bullpen gave the Astros Lineup fits. Houston was 0-for-8 with RISP and left 11 runners on base. Braves take the lead with back-to-back homers by Dansby Swanson and Jorge Soler. So, now the Braves are hoping to get win another Bullpen Game. If not, they will have Max Fried and Ian Anderson will start in Games 6 & 7. For the Astros, they got Jose Altuve going. But their concern is Alex Bregman. Bregman was 0-5 in Game 4. Tonight’s Starting Pitchers are a pair of left-handed pitchers. Framber Valdez will start for the Astros. While Tucker Davidson will start for the Braves. Valdez lost Game 1 on Tuesday, giving up 5 ER, in 2 IP. For Davidson, he comes in with a strikeout/walk ratio of 2.25 K/BB, 3.65 P/PA, and 1.10 GO/AO. Braves took Games 1 & 3, while Astros took Game 2. Although up 2-1, Braves still feel depleted with their pitching staff, as they don’t have Charlie Morton after breaking his leg in Game 1. While Max Fried didn’t have it in Game 2. But Ian Anderson and the Bullpen pitched a combined 2-hitter in Game 3. Now, they are going to Games 4 & 5 with back-to-back Bullpen games, hoping at-worst they get the ball to Max Fried and Ian Anderson for Games 6 & 7. For the Astros, they are trying to get out of their hitting woes. Jose Altuve, Alex Bregman, Carlos Correa are hitting the interstate (.100’s). Houston would like to get those three right-handed hitting middle infielders going in Game 4. What the Astros do have for pitching tonight, is right-hander Zack Greinke. Greinke comes in with a strikeout/walk ratio of 0.33, a pitches/plate appearance of 3.87, and groundout/airout 7.00. He will go against left-hander Dylan Lee as the Braves’ Opener. Braves have returned to the World Series, for the first time since 1999. They went through a struggling 1st Half, a season-ending injury to Ronald Acuna, Junior. But in the 2nd Half, they pulled away from the New York Mets and Philadelphia Phillies, to win National League East. For the Astros, they were playing well, most of the season. And they crushed the pitching staffs of the Chicago White Sox and Boston Red Sox, in the Postseason. However, they will be without their ace starting pitcher Lance McCullers, Junior (Right Forearm). Tonight’s Starting Pitchers are right-hander for the Braves. And left-hander Framber Valdez for the Astros. Morton comes in with a strikeout/walk ratio of 2.38, 4.03 pitches/plate appearance, and 1.56 groundout/airout. As for Valdez, he comes in with a K/BB ratio of 2.60, 3.59 P/PA, and 3.50 GO/AO.
