This game was supposed to have taken place last year. However, the game was pushed back to this year due to COVID-19. Now the Yankees and White Sox are over by the ‘Field of Dreams’ Set, to play the first of a 3-game series, which will conclude over at Guaranteed Rate Field beginning on Saturday.
Major League Baseball is having this game played on this movie set, because of the 30th Anniversary of the Universal Pictures/Kevin Costner Movie about Ray Kinsella (Costner) building a baseball diamond in his cornfield due to a voice telling him to build it. As well as it is the 100th Anniversary of the Black Sox Scandal, to which they were in the movie, including ‘Shoeless’ Joe Jackson.
As for tonight’s game. This is a possible American League Postseason game, between a Yankees team trying to chase their arch-nemesis Boston Red Sox for the 2nd AL Wild Card. Against a White Sox team, who has a substantial lead in their division and has their sights set on home-field throughout the Postseason.
Yankees looked like a team who was going to be sellers at the trading deadline. But were buyers of left-handed power hitters of Anthony Rizzo and Joey Gallo.
For the White Sox, they’ve led the AL Central for most of this regular season. And now they have two big components returning these past couple of weeks in Eloy Jimenez and Luis Robert. Jimenez had a two-game stretch where he had 4 home runs. And the White Sox are hoping that Robert can return to his ability at center field.
Tonight’s Starting Pitchers are left-hander Andrew Heaney for the Yankees and right-hander Lance Lynn, for the White Sox. Heaney comes in with a strikeout/walk ratio of 3.71 and a pitches/plate appearance of 4.25. While Lynn comes in with a K/BB ratio of 3.71 and a P/PA of 4.07.

Hello, and welcome to another edition of ‘Live-Blogging Shish on Baseball’. This Morning, it is a battle of Sox, as the white versions of Chicago take on the red versions of Boston.
White Sox took 2 out of 3 games in this series and is looking to take 3 out of 4, especially with their ace Lucas Giolito on the mound.
For the Red Sox, they would like to split this series, especially since this morning’s game is Boston’s Annual Patriots Day.
Normally on this Monday in April, Boston would have a morning Red Sox game and the Boston Marathon. But due to COVID-19, they are having the marathon in October. But today, the Red Sox said they could play their game on Patriots Day.
As mentioned, the White Sox will start right-hander Lucas Giolito. While the Red Sox will throw Nathan Eovaldi. Giolito has a strikeout/walk (K/BB) ratio of 5.20, while throwing 4.27 pitches per plate appearance (P/PA). As for Eovaldi, his K/BB ratio of 3.50, while having 3.97 P/PA.
It is Chicago White Sox taking on Boston Red Sox, coming up shortly.
