 Hello, and welcome to another edition of ‘Live-Blogging Shish on College Basketball’. Tonight, it is the 2021 NCAA Men’s Basketball Championship Game, between the Baylor Bears and Gonzaga Bulldogs. This National Championship Game pits the Big XII Conference (Baylor Bears) and the West Coast Conference. (Gonzaga Bulldogs). These two programs were supposed to play against each other on December 5th, 2020. But that game was cancelled due to COVID-19. Well now we have this matchup in the final game of the 2020-21 Season. Bears have cruised through the tournament. Their closest margin of victory was 9 points against Arkansas. This is their second national championship game appearance since 1948. On the other hand, the Zags were cruising the tournament until they met UCLA on Saturday Night. They won that game in overtime on a buzzer-beater by Jalen Suggs, after Johnny Juzang tied it with a layup. This is Gonzaga’s second national championship appearance in the last four tournaments. They would like to be the first program since 1976 Indiana Hoosiers to have a perfect season. The Bears, they are led by Jared Butler in scoring. Mark Vital leads Baylor in rebounding. And Davion Mitchell leads the Waco school in assists. For the Zags, they are led by Drew Timme in scoring and rebounding. And Jalen Suggs leads the Spokane Catholic University in assists.
