​Hello, and welcome to another edition of ‘Live-Blogging Shish on Baseball’. Tonight, it is an American League West Showdown, between Oakland Athletics and Houston Astros.
 
A’s are out of the Postseason Picture, after getting swept in Seattle. While the Astros would like to get a win or White Sox loss, to capture home-field advantage against Chicago’s South Siders in their American League Division Series, which begins on Thursday.
 
 
Tonight’s Starting Pitchers are a pair of right-handers. Paul Blackburn will start for the Athletics and Jake Odorizzi will start for the Astros. Blackburn comes in with a strikeout/walk ratio of 2.67, pitches/plate appearance of 3.89, and 1.38 groundout/airout ratio. As for Odorizzi, he comes in with a K/BB ratio of 2.67, pitches/plate appearance of 4.21, and groundout/airout of 0.73.

Astros clinch home-field advantage in ALDS vs. Chicago White Sox.

Final Thoughts:
Astros won this game, when Yordan Alvarez hits a 3-run homer off Paul Blackburn. For the A's, they had base running blunders and fly balls that came back into the field of play. And Tony Kemp being robbed of a game-tying HR by Kyle Tucker. 

With the win, Astros will start their American League Division Series against Chicago White Sox at Minute Maid Park on Thursday. 

A's and Astros will close out the regular season tomorrow. As Cole Irvin will start for Oakland. While Jose Urquidy will throw for Houston.
