Hello, and welcome to another edition of ‘Live-Blogging Shish on College Basketball’. Tonight, it is the 2023 NCAA Men’s Basketball Division 1 National Championship Game, between San Diego State Aztecs and the University of Connecticut (U Conn) Huskies.

The Aztecs are coming off their buzzer beater victory over Florida Atlantic on Saturday. They got the shot from Guard Lamont Butler.

This is a historic National Championship for San Diego State, but also for the Mountain West Conference. Not only will this be San Diego State’s first National Championship
Appearance, but it will be the first for the Mountain West Conference as well.

But you cannot say this the first National Championship
For U Conn Huskies. Huskies are in their 5th National Championship Appearance. They are not only winning, but winning these Tournament games. They have yet to play in game decided by fewer than 10 points, in this Tournament.

Aztecs are led by Matt Bradley in scoring. Nathan Mensah leads San Diego State in rebounding. And Lamont Butler leads the California-State University in assists.

As for the Huskies, they are led by Adama Sanogo in scoring and rebounding. While Tristen Newton leads U Conn in assists.

Final Thoughts:
U Conn had one of the most dominant tournament run in the modern era. They just had too many weapons on both sides of the court. 

For the Aztecs, their shooting were just streaky. And they couldn't get any consistency shooting the basketball.
