Hello, and welcome to another edition of ‘Live-Blogging Shish on Professional Ice Hockey’. Tonight, it is Game 1 of the North Division Semifinal Round, in the 2025 Calder Cup Playoffs. Between the Syracuse Crunch (Tampa Bay Lightning AHL Affiliate) and the Rochester Americans (Buffalo Sabres Affiliate).

Syracuse is coming into these Calder Cup Playoffs hot. They have won 8 out of the last 10 games. They would like to defeat in-state rival Rochester.

For the Amerks, they finished in 2nd Place in the North Division. But they are coming into the CCP with a regulation loss and an overtime loss. The time for them to step up is now.

Syracuse is co-led by Conor Sheary and Dylan Duke in goals scored. The Crunch os led by Derrick Pouliot in assists. And Sherry leads the Tampa Bay Lightning Affiliate in assists.

As for the Amerks, they are led by Isak Rosén in goals scored, assists, and points.

Final Thoughts:
A slow 1st Period. An electric 2nd Period. But Kale Clague puts the game-winning goal past Brandon Halverson. As Rochester takes Game 1 of the Best-of-5 North Semifinal.

For the Crunch, they were winning faceoffs. But they were struggling to get the puck past Devon Levi, after the first 5 minutes of the 2nd Period.

Same two teams on Sunday Afternoon for Game 2. It will be played back at the Blue Cross Arena on Sunday.
