​Hello, and welcome to another edition of ‘Live-Blogging Shish on College Basketball’. Tonight, it is a 2025 NCAA MBK Tournament Regional Semifinal game, in the Midwest Region. Between Big Ten’s Purdue Boilermakers and the Big 12.
 
The Boilermakers do not have Zach Edey this year. However, they did far better than the team who beat them for the national championship in U Conn. This year, the Boilermakers made it to the ‘Sweet 16’, while the Huskies got bounced by Florida, This Past Sunday. Now Purdue looks to see if they get back to the Final Four for the 2nd consecutive season.
 
For the Cougars, they have been a great program since Kelvin Sampson became their head coach. But what is eluding them is the National Championship. They are hoping this would be the team led by LJ Cryer.
 
The Cougars are led by LJ Cryer in scoring. Houston is led by J’Wan Roberts in rebounding. While Milos Uzman leads ‘Pi Slamma Jamma’ in assists.
 
As for the Boilermakers, they are led by Trey Kaufman-Renn in scoring and rebounding. While Braden Smith leads Purdue in assists.
 
It is the Purdue Boilermakers and the Houston Cougars, in the 2025 NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament-Midwest Regional Semifinals. The game will begin shortly.

Houston Cougars advances to Regional Finals

Final Thoughts:
A hard fought game. The Cougars had a 10-point lead evaporate. But Milos Uzan was able to make the game-winning FG with 00.9 seconds left. And the Cougars moved on to the 'Elite 8'.

For the Boilermakers, Braden Smith had 15 assists. But the Boilermakers had some lapses of defense. And it included in the penultimate play of the game.

With the win, Houston will play Tennessee in Indianapolis for the Midwest Regional Final on Sunday Afternoon.
