Hello and welcome to another edition of 'Live Blogging On Shish On College Basketball'. Today it is a NCAA MBK Tournament, second round game, between Notre Dame Fighting Irish and West Virginia Mountaineers. This is a West Region matchup. The winner plays the winner of Northwestern/Gonzaga. Notre Dame is a #5 seed, while West Virginia is a #4 seed.
Notre Dame Fighting Irish (ACC, At-Large) is coming in with a record of 26-9. They had a scare against Princeton, eeking out a 60-58 win on Thursday. They are hoping to break through their Elite 8 wall, and make the Final Four. The Irish are lead by Bonzie Colson in scoring and rebounding, while Matt Farrell leads in assists.
As for West Virginia (Big 12, At-Large), they are coming in with a record of 27-8. They also had to overcome a tough low-seed opponent in Bucknell. The Mountaineers won that game, 86-80. West Viriginia's Head Coach Bob Huggins is hoping to make it to the Final Four with this program. If that happens, it will be Huggins third visit to the National Semifinals. The Mountaineers are lead by Jevon Carter in scoring and assist, while Nathan Adrian leads in rebounds.

Final Thoughts: West Virginia never trailed in this game. This was a Mountaineer game from start to finish. Carter was efficient. As for the Irish, they were turnover-prone, which was uncharacteristic of Notre Dame. So the Mountaineers are San Jose-bound.
