SoS WHello and welcome to a special edition of ‘Live Blogging on Shish on Professional Football’. Tonight it is the 53rd AFC-NFC World Championship Game a.k.a. Super Bowl LIII. The teams playing in this year’s Super Bowl are New England Patriots and Los Angeles Rams.
In Super Bowl XXXVI the then St. Louis Rams were heavy favorites over New England Patriots. The Rams had the veteran quarterback on Kurt Warner, while the Patriots has 1st-year starter Tom Brady. The Patriots end up winning that Super Bowl and it was the first of five, for the Foxborough, MA based franchise.
Now the Patriots are going to go for their sixth Lombardi Trophy. Tom Brady is now the veteran quarterback, while Jared Goff is the younger quarterback. Will the tables turn in this Super Bowl?
Patriots are led by the legend Tom Brady at quarterback. Sony Michel is the team’s leading rusher. And Julian Edelman is the team’s leading receiver.
As for their team stats, they average 27.2 PPG, while moving the ball at 393.4 YPG (266.1 through the air and 127.3 on the ground). Defensively, they allow 20.3 PPG, while yielding 359.1 YPG (246.4 through the air and 112.7 on the ground).
The Rams are led by Jared Goff at quarterback. Todd Gurley in rushing. And Brandin Cooks leads L.A. in receiving.

Hello and welcome to another edition of 'Live Blogging on Shish on Professional Football'. This Afternoon it is 2019 NFC Divisional Playoff, between Philadelphia Eagles and New Orleans Saints. The Eagles come in after defeating the Bears 16-15. While the Saints are coming off the 1st-Round Bye, that is given to the teams with the two best records in the conference.
The Eagles are hoping that they can continue their defense of their Super Bowl Championship reign, by putting Week 11's loss to the Saints behind them. While the Saints are hoping that the week off; plus resting Drew Brees in Week 17, doesn't make them rusty.
The Eagles are led by quarterback Nick Foles. Darren Sproles is their leading rusher. And Alshon Jeffery leads Philadelphia in receiving.
Their team stats include, averaging 22.9 PPG, while allowing 365.3 YPG (267.2 through the air and 98.2 on the ground). Defensively they allow 21.8 PPG, while yielding 366.2 YPG (269.2 through the air and 96.9 on the ground).
For the Saints, they are led by future Hall of Fame Quarterback Drew Brees. Alvin Kamara is the team's leading rusher. While Michael Thomas leads New Orleans in receiving.
As for their team stats, they average 31.5 PPG, while moving the ball at 379.2 YPG (252.6 through the air and 126.6 on the ground). Defensively they allow 22.1 PPG, while yielding 349.1 YPG (268.9 through the air and 80.2 on the ground).
